Join us for Camp Kate 2012!
Directed by Kate Jablonski, CAMP KATE is a three day summer intensive. Dancers will have the opportunity to train with Kate in an intimate, positive, and fun setting. Classes in jazz, contemporary, musical theater, technique, progressions, conditioning, improvisation, and partnering will be offered. Scholarship auditions will take place on the final day of the workshop. Don't miss this rare opportunity to work with Kate and learn from her unique teaching techniques!
New to Camp Kate: Campers' Choreography Review
Participate in this rare opportunity to showcase a routine and receive feedback from Kate Jablonski and a panel of select judges, including YouTube sensation, Lauren Vogel. Rather than a competition, this supportive showcase environment will provide constructive feedback for positive growth in each individual dancer. Campers are encouraged to bring works in progress, student choreography, or pieces from competition seasons. Each entry will receive audio feedback from Kate, an adjudicated score, a certificate of participation, and the opportunity to receive the coveted "Kate's Choice Award".
The "Kate's Choice Award" winner will:
- Receive a plaque
- Perform in the closing showcase
- Have their dance filmed and be posted on Kate Jablonski's YouTube page with over 31 thousand subscribers and 12 million views
MUSIC
All music must be submitted to the CAMP KATE front desk on the first day of the intensive. Recording must be on a high quality CD. A back-up CD or iPod must be available for all entries at the time of the showcase.
CRITIQUES
The judging panel will consist of Kate Jablonski and at least three additional qualified judges. Each judge will comment on each routine entered into the showcase. Each entry will receive a CD with audio critique as well as a written critique from each judge. These critiques will be ready for pickup at the CAMP KATE front desk at the end of the intensive.
- All entries have a time limit of 3 minutes.
- All dancers performing in the showcase must be registered for CAMP KATE.
- The deadline for entry changes is 1 week prior to CAMP KATE. No changes will be accepted after this date.
- Entry fees are NON-REFUNDABLE. NO EXCEPTIONS.
- No Canadian checks accepted. Bank money orders must be payable in US Funds only.
- All showcase fees are per person, per entry.
- Professional and amateur dancers are welcome to enter work into the showcase.
- All CAMP KATE attendees authorize the use of their images in photos and video for any and all CAMP KATE purposes.
